Herbert Phillips Jr., a lifelong resident of Kenner, LA passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 79. Son of the late Herbert Sr. and Ollie Phillips. Loving father of Malinda Phillips Lee, Perrie Phillips Dunn (John), Tyrone Phillips (Christine), Shanta Phillips Berry, Kim Phillips (Gloria), Wendy Phillips Whitsett, Darren Phillips, Marzella, Patrick, Richard and Andrea Chatman and the late Herbert "Joe" Phillips III. Also survived by 34 grandchildren, 25+ great-grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Emira "Marie" Johnson and Olivia P. Smith. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Oakland Baptist Church, 825 Rev. Richard Wilson Dr. (formerly 3rd St.), Kenner, LA 70062 under the leadership of Pastor Charles Hurst on Friday, September 22, 2017. Visitation 10am. Service at 11am. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie LA 70003 Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA in charge of arrangements.
