Herman Joseph Hartman, Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the age of 79 of Mesothelioma in Northport, AL. Loving father of Darrin Hartman. Step father of Johnna Collins Bailey (Mike) and David Collins (Lisa French). A proud grandfather of Samantha Hartman, step-grandfather of Meg Bailey-Fortenberry (Chad), Warren Bailey (Kari Walker), Jonathon Collins (Haley Patterson), Jackson Collins, Joslyn Collins, Jessica Collins, Joseph Collins and step great grandchildren; Harper Bailey and Belle Fortenberry. God-father of Krista Hartman-Kottswick and Alison Hartman. Son of the late Nola Aguilar Hartman and Herman Joseph Hartman, Sr. Brother of Charles Hartman, Barbara Hartman Nason (the late Eddie) and the late June Hartman Toups (the late Daniel). Partner of Janice Fulgham and also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Herman was born in Marrero, LA where he attended St. Joseph the Worker Elementary School, Westwego Middle School, West Jefferson High School. He graduated from LSU with an Electrical Engineering Degree and worked as an Electrical Engineer. He has been a long-time resident of Northport, Alabama where he enjoyed eating oyster po-boy sandwiches. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
