Herman Starks ,Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 12, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Herman was affectionately known by all his grandkids as "Paw-Paw". Beloved husband of the late wife of Cora Lee Bell-Starks. Devoted father of Herman (Brendell) Starks Jr. of Maryland, Virginia, Rosemary (Wayne Sr.) Steele of Louisville, KY, Irma Gaston, Chris ( Joseph) Pittman of Marrero, LA, Herbert (Judy) Starks of Houston, TX, Carol (Wendall) Chapman, Shelia Starks, Richard Starks of New York and the late Irene Starks Jacobs. Grandfather of the late Pamela Starks. Great grandfather of the late Eric Myles. Son of the late Irene and Joseph Starks. Brother of Alvin (Barbara), Richard (Carolyn), Edward (Brenda), Ervin (Angela) and Joseph Starks, Ira Mae (Clarence) Brooks and the late Peter and Ernest Starks. Also survived by 32 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Age: 82 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Avondale, La. Relative and friends are invited to attend a visitation at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Sunday November 18, 2018 from 3:00 p.m-5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Nelson Chapel AME Church on Monday November 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Patrick Bell, host pastor; Rev. Keith Sanders of St. Paul AME Church, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church.
