Dr. Irwin M. Marcus

1919 - 2021

Dr. Irwin M. Marcus passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021. He was 102 years old. Born on March 19, 1919, Dr. Marcus grew up in Chicago, Illinois, graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology and then University of Illinois Medical School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946, moved to New Orleans in 1951, and was a prominent psychoanalyst for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Marcus. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Angela Hill, and his three children, Dr. Randall Marcus (Katy), Sherry Marcus Leventhal (Alan) and Melinda Marcus (AC). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be private.
