Isabelle Montelepre Obituary

Isabelle Coltrane Montelepre was born on August 13, 1926 and passed away on April 18, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Paul Montelepre. Daughter of the late William T. Coltrane & Janet Bruning Coltrane. Mother of Philip Montelepre and Barbara Montelepre Whitener. Sister of the late Thelma Cook, Theodora DeBarbieris, Roberta Warren, Leonard Coltrane, Joseph Coltrane and Raymond Coltrane. Grandmother of Kate Montelepre Lalla, Isabelle Montelepre, Paul Montelepre, Kiel Whitener Passman and Lane Whitener. Great grandmother of Andrew Lalla, Jacob Lalla, Stiel Passman, Castiel Montelepre and Matthew Mauberret. Isabelle and Paul owned and operated the Montelepre Memorial Hospital, opened in 1936 by the late Dr. Phillip Montelepre, which was the first privately owned hospital in New Orleans. She was a giving person and was very loved. She will be truly missed. Thank you to all the staff at Inspired Living and Nola Homecare. Also, a special thank you to her personal caregivers Joy Hill and Belinda Robichaux. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the Mass in Metairie Cemetery.
