JACK MORGAN Obituary

MORGAN Jack W. Morgan, 91, passed away February 21, 2013. Jack was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Albert and Minnie Morgan. Jack grew up in Cincinnati, where he met Ruth McLaughlin. He joined the Army and served overseas in World War II in the Armored Signal Corps. Soon after returning he married Ruth and they started a family. Jack had a long career in the insurance business, finally retiring in 2012 at the age of 90. He had a passion for gardening. He loved to travel and enjoyed art and poetry. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed the many family get-togethers. He also valued all his long-lasting friendships. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth; brother Durward Brownie Morgan; and sisters Elsie Panko, Cora Bea Morgan, Dorothy Perin, and Ruth Pat Rich. He is survived by his sons, Vic (Debi), David (Ellie) and Roger (Kim), and grandchildren, Matthew Morgan, Rachel (Aaron) Bugher and Ellen Morgan. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A N., Ponte Vedra Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257. Please visit our online Tribute at www.quinn-shalz.com. I met Jack my first week at UNF in 1980. Through the years, he was always so pleasant, so informative, and always the epitome of a gentleman. He will definitely be missed. My prayers for all of you...
