On behalf of Louisiana Women Veterans, we would offer our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Jacqueline Mays, U.S. Army veteran (Retired). We salute her service to our country and honor her with this poem:

She is a woman veteran
Whose service was true
And she proudly served
The Red, White and Blue

She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
And without any hesitation
She joined unselfishly

She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside

We're proud today to know
That although she is gone
She goes on to glory
After a job "well done!"

And so, "Our Dear Sister"
We salute you today
A special Soldier laid to rest
In this quiet, solemn way.

George and family, you will all be in our thoughts & prayers as you lay Jackie to rest. We will miss visiting with Jackie. She was always so cheerful & pleasant. She was thrilled when we gave her peas from the garden & she would say "Ooohhhh, My husband is going to be so happy!", she loved her family so much & was very devoted to them. We will miss her dearly. My she Rest In Peace.
