Jason Aguilar Obituary

Jason Anthony Aguilar was born on January 3, 1984 and passed away too soon on Saturday, September 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bernard Aguilar; his mother, Mary Anne Brink; his grandparents: John Joseph Brink Sr., Rosemary Thompson Brink, Joseph Bazile Aguilar, and Frances Lupo Aguilar; and his aunt, Justine Aguilar Krohn. He leaves behind his loving wife, Christina Koch Aguilar; their two young sons, Joseph Anthony Aguilar and Jacob Ryan Aguilar; his brother, Darryl Joseph Aguilar (Jennifer); an uncle, John Joseph Brink Jr. (Sally); and three aunts: Edna Catherine Vest (Art), Rosemary Schellhaas (Ronald Burzelleri) and Jean Marie Quave. He is also survived by a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends-all who loved him dearly. Jason graduated from Nicholls University in 2006 and had worked for Cargill for the past 8 years. He enjoyed watching the many sunrises and sunsets while working along the Mississippi River. He loved all things New Orleans and rode in the Krewe of Okeanos for many years alongside his uncle. Jason was the "King of Mardi Gras". He found his Queen in 2010 and the love he and his wife shared is indescribable. Together they rarely missed a parade, catching most of them twice, and in 2016 they started a Krewe of their own. He was a great father, an amazing husband, and a true family man. Family was his priority and Jason considered all friends as family. Jason was the life of the party. It didn't matter to him if it was a birthday, holiday, Saints game, or a random Monday night. He always made sure everyone around him was having a good time and was well fed. For those that have had the pleasure of knowing him, always cherish the memories, and Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time. My mind can not comprehend this loss of such a wonderful man from this life. I have had the pleasure of having Jason as a friend, literally since I can remember. We were neighborhood buddies and I will never forget hunting frogs in the neighborhood or having sleep overs at his Grandma's house on the corner. How we would try to scare each other in the middle of the night, mostly he would win. Playing Super Street Fighter and WWF on his Nintendo. We always shared a love for wrestling (the fake kind).
I'm truly sorry to say that towards the end of our adolescents we hung out less and hardly kept in touch; but it was him who always tried to rekindle our friendship with a phone call. I wish I would have been there for you more when you called, I'm truly sadden that I didn't make the time to come watch a Wrestling PPV or have more dinners with you.
I have had the pleasure of attending your wedding and having dinner with you and Christina. I will cherish those memories. I have attended your fathers funeral as well as your mother's and you were so strong in those situation. I hope, my friend; that your strength in tragedy reflects onto your friends and family as we now remember your life with us. Mine and my wife's condolences and love for you extends to your wife and children.
I love you my friend, my large brother; may you rest in peace in Heaven with your family.

I have known Jason for over 30 years, dating back to when we were little kids staying on St. Peter St. in Mid-City. He was an important figure in my life, and I have so many great memories of my time with him. I don't have enough space on here to list all my memories or all of his good qualities, but I will most remember him as a genuinely kind person who valued his friends tremendously and would do anything for them. His untimely passing leaves me and so many others with holes in our hearts, but, in spite of this deep sadness, I also consider myself incredibly blessed to have had such a good friend for so long.

To all of Jason's family, especially Christina and the boys, I am so sorry for your loss.

I'll always remember you as being a jokester. You always had a positive attitude about everything. When someone was down, you would lift their spirits with one of your antics or jokes. You had a heart of gold and I wish we could've hung out more. I wish nothing but the best for your family. You will be missed very much. Till we meet again old friend, I love you man.

Christina, there are no words to express how sorry I am for you and the boys' loss. I remember Jason at Halloween parties with you, and all the Mandi grad pics from riding on floats to carrying Joey to catch beads! I know he will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him! Please accept my condolences and if you need help with anything at anytime going forth please do not hesitate to ask! Love you so much!
