Jeanette Stone Obituary

STONE Jeanette Brandler Stone, age 88 years, died November 16, 2011. Loving wife of Herbert Stone for 63 years; devoted mother of Michael and Esty Stone of Israel; Richard Stone and Brigitte Fredy of New Orleans; and Carol Madow and Mark Diamond of Baltimore. Loving grandmother of Alan Stone, Naamah and Schlomo Biton, Lauren and Michael Setzer, Sagi Stone, Evan Madow, Rakefet Stone and Tuval Stone. Delighted great grandmother of Shaked Biton; sister of Albert Brandler of Brooklyn, New York; Preceded in death by father Nathan Brandler, mother Lena Altman Brandler, and sister Estelle Brandler Cohen. Jeanette was active in many volunteer and philanthropic organizations. She was a life member of both Hadassah and Jewish Women International. She was active in B'nai B'rith and Hillel in New Orleans, as well as several school and community organizations in Baltimore, MD. She was a member of Shir Chadash Conservative Congregation in Metairie. Services will be held at Shir Chadash Synagogue, 3737 W. Esplanade Avenue, Metairie on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 1:30 pm with visitation at 1:00 pm. Interment in Chevra Thilim Memorial Park, corner Iberville and Helena, New Orleans. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Hadassah of New Orleans, 95 Spanish Fort Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124-4317. Arrangements by Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. I am sorry that I never got to meet Jeannette but,if her daughter Carol is an indignation of what kind of woman she was, she will truly be missed. Peace and love to the family.
