Jerry Lane Jr. Obituary

Sunrise September 19, 1967-Sunset May 13, 2022. Jerry Nathaniel Lane Jr. was born September 19, 1967, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana to Doris Turner Lane and Jerry Lane Sr. He grew up in New Sarpy, Louisiana and was a graduate of Destrehan High School class of 1988. He dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized on November 14, 1993, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under Revered Isiah Franklin, Jr. He was blessed with two children, Kiera and Jaden Lane with his high school sweetheart and long-time friend, Kimberly Evans. Jerry Jr. was a hard worker, working in roles from a laborer to an assistant manager at various local businesses including ADM, AME incorporation, Kaiser, Office Depot, Popeye's, and TransAmerican Refining. During his later life, he was able to work full time at his passion-cooking. If you wanted a boil, BBQ, or Sunday dinner with all the fixings, you called Mick Lane. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a family member, friend, or neighbor. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Saints, playing dominos, and sitting in his front yard entertaining friends. Preceding his death are his grandparents Morgan Lane and Eunice Cammon Lane (paternal), James W. Turner and Julia Watson Turner (maternal). He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Kiera Lane and Jaden Lane, mother and father Jerry Sr. and Doris Lane, his siblings, Corey Lane, Deidre Alexander (LaTraye Alexander), Theda Lane and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services to be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 100 Second Street, St. Rose, Louisiana with Rev. Freddie Dixson Sr., officiating. Visitation: 10am-11am. Services: 11am-12pm. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose, Louisiana. Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, Louisiana in charge of arrangements.

To the Lane family...Man that is born of a woman have yet but a few years & he to shall die. Jerry was a kind spirit with a caring heart & will be truly missed. When you came down Clement St , you would see Jerry & his crew being active playing some sort of game. Being it dominos , spades or whatever. Spread your wings Jerry & fly like an eagle. The corner of Clements will never be the same. R.I.P my friend

Growing up with lil Jerry during younger years was full of love and laughter.

And until we all join together in that joyous and eternal reunion, he will be dearly missed.

Rest easy, my nephew Jerry.
