Jesse "Rabbit" Marsalis

Jesse "Rabbit" Marsalis, 63, of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15th, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his unwavering commitment to family. He's survived by his beloved wife, Antoinette Marsalis, 3 daughters, Elaina Marsalis King (Jarvis), Elisa Marsalis Laphand (Samuel), and Elandra Marsalis Cooper (Eddie). His mother Della Mae Marsalis, 5 brothers, Coleman Marsalis (Joyce), Freddie Marsalis, Charles Marsalis (Angela), James Marsalis, and Willie Marsalis, 2 sisters, Cathy Nabor (Lonnie), and Rhonda Curley, 2 sisters-in-law, Karen Cox, and Jamie Gooden (Da'Mon) and 1 brother-in-law, Randall Simmons. He will be deeply missed by his 6 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. A funeral service to honor Jesse will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at Richardson Funeral Home, 11112 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge, LA 70123.
