My sincere condolences to Jessie's family. She was ill for a very long time but remained in the hearts of the older sorors of New Orleans Alumnae. May she rest in peace.

Time has a way of passing and we lose some of the connections we had as young people going to school together. As a soror of Jessie and Inez,I wish to express my sincere sympathy to the family but a word of encouragement also. Be strengthened in the Lord ,who has made a way for us, (through His act of submission to His Father by laying down His life that we may have a right to the tree of life and have life for eternity),to be joined with our loved ones again.Pray without ceasing and trust in the Lord.
Yours in Christ,
Yvette R. Marsalis

To Mrs. Galatas’ family,
You always had a smile on your face or a special word of wisdom for all us as students and strong words of encouragement.....
Family whatever you do please stay prayerful, strong and healthy
For we all know it is a little hard, but just remember God is in the plan.
You are all God’s sheep and the happines, joys, love and prayers you shared with Mrs. Galatas all came from above. Now let God enjoy Mrs. Galatas happiness, laughter, cooking, sewing, and travel stories. You and I know she has a lot to talk about.....
Mrs. Galatas’ warm cheery smile, hearty laugh, kindness, words of wisdom and encouragement to all is something we all as her students will never forget. Heaven is just smiling about their new spice of love.
May god’s blessing be with the entire family……
