Joan Brown Obituary

Joan Anne Brown, a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on February 9, 2022, at the age of 76. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on December 30, 1945, to the late Joseph Brown and Mildred Melan Brown. Joan is the beloved mother of Michael Daward, the late Warren Daward, Marie Daward Ecklund (Ronald Sr.), Melissa Daward Brumfield (the late William), and Lynne Daward Capritto (Joseph); proud grandmother of Joseph (Kristel), Jessica (Shane), Jade, Ronald Jr., Century, Victoria (Jerel), Valerie, Brianna, Katie, Emma, Michael (Rebecca), Amanda, Courtney (Miles), Audrey, and Grace; great-grandmother of Sophia, Ronald III, Elizabeth, Dustin, Royce, Roman, Jacob, and Ava; and caring sister of Julia Dupre, Charlie Brown, Jenny Brown, Patricia Dupre, Millie Brown Lujano, Joseph Brown, and Simon Brown. She is also survived many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joan was an avid Saints fan. She enjoyed attending family gatherings and spending time with her "furry friends." The love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unending. Joan was affectionately known as "Maw-Maw" to all, and she will fondly be remembered as a generous, sassy, quick-witted, straightforward, and playful person. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.
