Hi Jenna,
My maiden name is Shannon Cantrell and you used to babysit my sister, Denny, and I when we were little (the 1970's). My grandparents were Jack and Johnnie Lou Abbott and they were dear friends of your parents. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. My mom, Pam, talks highly of your parents and tells stories about Mardi Gras in the French Quarter and using your dad's studio as a "home base". I remember my grandparents telling me stories also. I don't remember ever having met your parents, but the stories I grew up hearing have stayed with me throughout the years. I definitely remember you. You were the world's greatest babysitter! My husband and I were just in the French Quarter a couple of weeks ago and I thought about your family. I asked mom about y'all on Saturday and she told me Joan had recently passed away, so I searched for her obit and found this. We were at mom's house to tear apart the wall that was built to house a mural your dad painted for my grandparents many years ago. It was cut out of the wall from the house it was painted in after my grandparents moved and it has traveled all over as family have moved around and it's next home will be with me. I'm so grateful.
Love to you and your family from me and my family.
