JoAnn Jenkins Obituary


          JoAnn Comer Jenkins, 80 of Elkton, passed away November 18, 2016.


          Mrs. Jenkins was born June 29, 1936 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Madeline Monger Comer. She graduated from Shenandoah High School and was a member of the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church, and had been active in church functions. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Senior Citizens, and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She attended thousands of sporting events, supporting her children and grandchildren, always there cheering them on. She retired from KMart after over twenty years of service.


          She is survived by her husband, A.C. Jenkins Jr.; son, Bobby Jenkins & wife, Monica, Elkton; daughter, Kim Smith & husband, Tom, Elkton; a sister, Linda Griffith & husband, Sam, Luray; Grandchildren, Jeremy Jenkins, Benjamin “Buck” Jenkins, Elizabeth Jenkins, Molly Smith; great-grandchildren, Gauge Jenkins, Kiersten Jenkins, Kaidance Jenkins, Blake Jenkins, Kanin Snow, Nathan Eubanks, Kenzie Eubanks; nieces, Michelle Long, Teresa Shenk, Melissa Gray; nephew, Greg Comer. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Kay Jenkins, and a brother, Charles Comer, and an infant son.  


          Pastor Jimmy Kite, Rev. Rick Robertson and Larry Sullivan will conduct the funeral service 11am Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church in Shenandoah. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Shenandoah.


          Mrs. Jenkins will be taken to the Shenandoah Pentecostal Church where the  family will receive friends tonight (Monday) 6 to 8pm .


          Memorial gifts may be made to the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church, 500 Shenandoah Ave. , Shenandoah, Virginia  22846.


          Arrangements entrusted to the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
