John Sheldon Berault

John Sheldon Berault, born March 1941 in New Orleans, LA passed awa?y on July 12, 2014 at the Southeast War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA where he had resided for two years, aged 73 years. He is preceded in death by parents, Eleanor Lanigan and Sidney Berault; brother Kenneth Paul Berault and step-mother Marian Arnolt Berault. He is survived by his former wife Nancy O'Gara Berault of Harahan, LA; daughter Eleanor Berault of Harahan, LA; son Charles (Katie Scariano) Berault of Prarieville, LA. Sons Andrew Berault of Fayetteville, AR and James Berault of Austin, TX., are both of second wife Jane Case Berault of Hot Springs Village, AR. He has two granddaughters, Claudia and Jocelyn and a grandson due in September. He is also survived by his sister, Lisette (the late Merrill) Vitter of Terrytown, LA and brothers Warren (Kathy Calkins) Berault of Slidell, LA and Tom Berault of Bowie, MD along with dozens of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. (John) Sheldon, as he was known in his youth, graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes in 1955 and De La Salle High School in 1959. A Naval Corpsman from 1960 -1964, he was an RCPO in San Diego and Outstanding Enlisted Man of the Month at N.A.S. Pensacola. He graduated LSU-NO with a BS in Accounting in 1969, and Tulane University with a Masters in Health Systems Management in 1980. He worked over the years at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola as Financial Manager; Alton Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans as Controller; Eye Ear Nose and Throat Hospital in New Orleans as Executive Vice President and Administrator; 7th Ward General Hospital in Hammond as Associate Administrator; Meadowcrest Hospital in Gretna as Assistant Administrator; Director of Charity Hospital's HIV outpatient clinic; and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Center of Louisiana (Charity and University Hospitals) from which he retired in 2003. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at All Saint's Episcopal Church at 100 Rex Drive in River Ridge, LA on Sunday, July 27, at 1:00 pm. John will be interred in the columbarium at All Saints.
