My sympathies. You can find comfort at Ecclesiastes 9:5.

Sidney was a much loved classmate in our school days. Word is just getting out about his passing and those of us who knew him and were hoping he would attend our next class reunion are deeply saddened to learn of his death. Though we frequently lose touch with people as we grow up and scatter and assume new roles and new lives, it does not mean that those earlier friendships are either forgotten or mean any less. To those who have been closer to him as an adult, many of us will envy you for memories we do not share, but we are grateful for the friendships he enjoyed in a life that had such rich meaning both from his work and for those who knew and loved him.
