Joseph Boudreaux Obituary

BOUDREAUX Joseph "Bobby" Calvin Boudreaux passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the age of 84 years. A native of New Iberia and a resident of Metairie for the past 47 years. Beloved husband of 64 years to Velma Guidry Boudreaux. Brother of Dorothy "Toot" Quave. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Helen Hulin Boudreaux and Ambrose Boudreaux. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran, retired from Dixie Machine Metal Works after 37 years of service, and a member of Boiler Makers Union Local 37. He loved woodworking, playing horseshoes with his friends at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church and fishing with his friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 pm in the Chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Visitation will be from 10 am until time of Mass. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at www.gardenofmemoriesfuneralhome.com.

MY WONDERFUL UNCLE BOBE WAS AN IDEAL UNCLE. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR US AND SHARED EVERYTHING HE HAD WITH US. I HAD A GREAT VISIT WITH HIM IN DECEMBER AND WE WENT BACK TO MANY GREAT TIMES IN OUR LIVES. WE WILL MEET AGAIN UNTIL THEN HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BUT HIS MEMORY WILL NEVER LEAVE ME!

Velma, Toot & Family, We are so sad to hear about Bobe. I wish we could make the funeral but he will be in our prayers along with ya'll. Bobe will always be remembered for his kindness, laughter & jokes---he was so much fun when ya'll came to visit. Velma take care of yourself & you & Toot please keep in touch.
