Joseph Broussard Obituary

Joseph Charles Broussard III was born in New Orleans on January 26, 1933 to Joseph Charles Broussard Jr. and Sedonia Snaer Broussard, and entered eternal rest on June 13, 2021 at the age of 88. He was the loving husband of the late Theresa Alexis Broussard, and the proud father of Darlene Bazanac (the late Octave), Kathleen Pichon (Daniel), Patrice James (Michael), Joseph Broussard IV, Dwayne Broussard, Sigrid Rouege (Michael), and the stepfather of Maria Harrison (Izell). He is survived by his sisters, Beverly Ladmirault (the late Gerald), and Aimee Broussard, and a brother, Louis Broussard (Suzette). Proud grandfather of 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Broussard was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School. He continued his education at Delgado Community College where he became a Draftsman. In addition, he served his country in the United States Airforce and received an honorable discharge and served his community as a mail carrier for 30 years with the Unites States Postal Service. Anyone who knew him knew his love for fishing, coins, and horse racing. He loved and was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation and the funeral service at Majestic Mortuary, 1833 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by services at 10:30 a.m. Due to COVID-19, everyone attending is required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing. Gatherings are limited (No Exceptions). A military ceremony will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11:00am at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery 34888 Grantham College Dr. Slidell, LA 70460.
