Joseph Lionel Bush Jr.

1954 - 2023

Joseph Lionel Bush Jr. succumbed to his illness and obtained his heavenly wings on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was born on August 27, 1954, in New Orleans to the late Joseph L. Bush Sr. and Theresa Mallory Bush. Joseph was a graduate of West Jefferson High School in 1972; he later enlisted in the US Army, serving his country for 10 years. He accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Nelson Waits. In 2011 he became an Ordained Deacon under the study of God's word by Pastor Damian Brown. Joseph leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife–Christine Carter Bush; mother–Theresa Mallory Bush; brother–Reginald Bush Sr. (Tammy); sister-in-law–Betty L. Jackson (Ralph Sr.); nephews–Reginald Jr., Gorium (also his godson), and Tylen Bush, and Ralph Jackson Jr.; great-nephew–Reginald Bush III; and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives; friends of the family; Pastors, Officers, and members of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, New Millennium Community Church, and all neighboring churches; and employees of Diamond Food Distributors, SE LA Veterans Health Care System, Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis Center (Avondale), and Navarre Medical Transportation, are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Little Zion MBC, 433 Avondale Garden Road, Westwego, LA 70094. Pastor Damian Brown will officiate. The Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until the time of service. The Interment will follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3450 US - 90 W, Avondale, LA 70094.
