Joseph Major, Sr., 82, peacefully transitioned to his eternal life, surrounded by his loving family, on September 30, 2024. He was born in St. Bernard, LA to the late Philip and Gladys Major. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Louise Duplessis Major, his children, Joseph Major, Jr. (Melody), Andrea Hill (Charles Jr.), and Trenelle Collins (Lee Jr.); grandchildren, Ashley Millet, Corey Williams, Garielle Celestine, Keisha Harris, Charne Hill, Lee Collins lll , Dominique Johnson, Joseph Major lll, Travera Johnson and Dondre Johnson; 28 great grandchildren, 7 godchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is survived by his siblings, Geraldine Alveris (Roland) and Anthony Major (Olivia). Joseph Major Sr. was preceded in death by his siblings, Alice Stevenson, Martha Hawkins, Victoria Major, Beatrice Duplessis, Gloria Claiborne, Roland Major, Sr., and Philip Major, Jr. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church,111 Bethlehem Lane in Braithwaite, LA, 70040, on October 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael W.
