Joseph Sensebe Obituary

Joseph Sensebe, Jr. entered eternal rest April 10, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born in New Orleans, LA on April 1, 1940 and grew up in the Ninth Ward and raised his family in Chalmette, LA. He was the son of the late Joseph Sensebe, Sr. and Vera Duntze Sensebe and is the brother of Gail L. Sensebe. He is survived by his wife of 57+ years Barbara Reynolds Sensebe, sons Joseph E. Sensebe (Gina) and Gary J. Sensebe (Sandra). He was a loving and proud grandfather of Madeline Sensebe Means (Jake), Rachel E. Sensebe, Samantha G. Sensebe and Jared J. Sensebe. Joe was a 1957 graduate of Francis T. Nicolls High Scholl and attended Tulane University. He was a member of the US Air Force and the Louisiana Air National Guard. Joe was an avid car enthusiast as a member of local Ford Mustang clubs, the Mustang Club of America, and the Shelby American Automobile Club. He enjoyed Mardi Gras with family and friends as a member of the Krewes of Endymion, Thoth and Nemesis. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there was a private funeral and interment at Lawn Metairie Mausoleum. A mass will be said for him on Saturday, May 15, 2021, 4:00 PM, at Divine Mercy Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy, Kenner LA. In Lieu of flowers please consider donation to the Louisiana SPCA.
