Joseph Stiebing Jr. Obituary

Joseph Anthony Stiebing Jr., loving husband of Millie Crumb Stiebing, passed away peacefully at home on July 26, 2024. He was the son of the late Cecilia Mitchell Stiebing and Joseph Stiebing Sr. Joe was the proud father of four loving children: Joey Stiebing, Milton Stiebing (Tammy), Michele Stiebing, and Melissa Reynaud. As a devoted family man, he enjoyed spending time with his twelve wonderful grandchildren: Ashely Sikes (Derek), Lauren Stiebing (Pablo), Connor Stiebing (deceased), Haley Graffagnini (Joshua), Chelsea Lavigne (Leyton), Cassidy Stiebing, Grant Stiebing, Bella Reynaud, Laney Stiebing, Simone Henderson, Ava Reynaud, and Boone Reynaud. He also enjoyed time with his three great grandchildren: Julianna Mull, Grayson Graffagnini and Bodie Lavigne. He was looking forward to meeting his fourth great grandchild, due in January. Joseph was the brother of five siblings: Merle Whitlock, Marilyn Pomet (deceased), Joann Windhorst, Rodney Stiebing, and Dave Stiebing (deceased). After graduating from Redemptorist High school, Joe served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Homestead, Florida, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Many years later, he retired from a long career at South Central Bell (AT&T). Joe was a devoted Catholic who was proud of his faith, family, and wonderful neighbors. He was especially thankful for his good friends, especially Al Courcelle and Donald Wolverton, for their love and support during his most difficult times. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at St. Rita Catholic Church in Harahan on Friday, August 9, 2024. Visitation will be from 10 am – 12 noon, with a mass immediately following at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lymphoma And Leukemia Society.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire Stiebing family. I was assigned to ride along with Joe on my first day at South Central Bell. In later years he would remind me that HE signed me into the Union and that I would have never had the career that I had without him. He was so right. My world is better because of Joe and so many men and women like him. Rest In Peace, my Brother. He will be missed.

Our heartfelt condolences and prayers to go out to you Millie, and your family for the loss of your loving husband, who was a wonderful caring and compassionate man. His love of family was undeniable. He always talked about his children and grandchildren and his love of his wife. Joe had a heart of gold. He was a lot of fun to be around, always joking and laughing with us all. He will be sorely missed by all. God Bless his family and we hope that the memories of his love and devotion will help heal you all.
Love, Al Jr. and Harumi Courcelle and family.
