Juan Vincent Cordova, born in New Orleans on August 30,1965, passed away at the age of 56 on September 12, 2021. He graduated from Redemptorist High School and RETS Electronics where he was certified as a mechanical service technician. His passion was learning how things worked and repairing them. He worked at Whitney Bank for a decade and later serviced multiple banks, casinos and restaurants prior to his disability. He was a long-term Metairie resident and avid Saint fan who was an enthusiastic reader of the daily news, staying knowledgeable of both historical and current events. He was a watch and coin collector with a great appreciation of antiques. Throughout his life he was a fish enthusiast who enjoyed fishing and caring for those he nurtured in his aquarium. He was also a very passionate nature observer who followed the daily antics of all the birds and squirrels in his backyard. He held a deep appreciation for the local environment and was a friend of all animals-especially all his fur babies, most notably, his precious Doodlebug. He will be remembered as a kind and caring person with a gentle heart. He loved his family and always had deep compassion for those less fortunate. He will be deeply missed but will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Vicente Cordova. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Cordova, and his sisters, Susan Orgeron (Keith) and Marie Richard. Private services were held on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard New Orleans, LA 70124. Burial will be at Lake Lawn Park.
