Well...............As I look back over the year "2016" is almost gone Bye-Bye......It has been a good year to the extent that we have put all of are good measures into it, none of it wasted.... Both the good and the bad experiences can be profited by, in a sense, the past is not entirely gone :-O as the result of it, for "good or evil" is with us at this present moment. I learned to humbly thank God for the good things of this year just gone by........with this rose goes with my late father with the good memories he has left with me to tell the stories of good. Love, Kenny

In loving memory of my father.
Kermit "Kit" Bernard La Grange Jr. passed away peacefully on November 24th, 2016 at the age of 72. He was born on January 16th, 1944 in New Orleans, LA. Our father was preceded in death by his parents Kermit Bernard La Grange Sr. and Edith Boudreaux La Grange; also his brother William La Grange. Kermit is survived by his loving children Christine Marie La Grange Damare' (husband James), Kenneth Bernard La Grange, David Bernard La Grange. His grandchildren Matthew Damare', Jonathan Damare', Christopher Damare', Our father was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He joined the Navy and proudly served his country aboard the U.S.S. Shangrila (meaning; a remote beautiful imaginary place where life approaches perfection) He was the ships bugler and also had the great honor of serving mass at St. Peter's in Rome. After serving his country, he then went on to work with his father in-law (Jimmy Vincent Capezza) for Jefferson Downs and the Fair Grounds in New Orleans for fifteen years. He then went on to work with his father as an agent for "Greyhound bus lines" in Metairie, La. He successfully started his own business; "Kit's Delivery Service" serving the hot shot industry for the oil fields. For the past twenty years....... Kit was one of Metry Cabs finest drivers which he loved meeting people and talking about his city.
I; Kenny La Grange; worked with my father at his delivery and hot shot service when I was in high school back in 1980 and went on to work with him and my grandfather Kermit Bernard La Grange Sr. after I graduated from high school as an agent for greyhound bus lines in Metairie, La. all the way up until the mid nineties. As my father went to work for "Metry cab service" in 1995............. I went on to continue being an agent for Greyhound bus lines in Metairie, La. on Causeway Blvd. I also had a Greyhound package and delivery service and a private delivery service until hurricane Katrina hit. I was with my father 6 days a week 12 hours a day from 1980 till around 1995. Not once did me and my dad ever have an argument! we got along like best of friends. He is and all always will be my number one! Between his father and my grandfather, they taught me so much and the stories they told me, I will never be able to tell them all. The laughs, the fun, the memories will be imbedded in my mind for ever. He went on to remarry to Peggy La Grange, her daughter Lee Anne Werner Howard, Lee Anne daughter Kayla and her 2 daughters. We will all miss him dearly along with his friends and family. We love him and will miss him for ever! He is now in the hands of God our Lord.

I want to send these flowers to all of my fathers' family and very close friends in kind expression of sympathy shown following his sad passing. Yalls support at this difficult time was very much appreciated and of comfort to me, my sister Tina and my brother David.
I want to also say: "Perhaps you couldn't be there at all, but you thought of our father today. what ever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much for those cards" "Perhaps you sent beautiful flowers, if so, we saw them there."
"Perhaps you sent donations?.......They really touched our hearts"
"Perhaps you sent and spoke kind words, as any close friends could say; I thank you all that came today!"
When grief and sorrow are upon us, there are few words of condolence that can soothe a broken heart, but in the time you have given and the kindness you have shown....it is clear that when words are spoken from the heart; their power heals no bounds.
Me and my siblings know where his soul is?.... but right now we don't know where to go see him? With thanks we say "we love you all."

For those who couldn't make my fathers' memorial. Here were some photo's that I had displayed for memories of his kids when we were just little tater tots back in the late 60's and early 70's. I was amazed on how many of his friends and his family from Paterson and franklin, La. were lined up to check them out.
