To the family of Lakisha Tamika Baptiste Lewis: My heart is filled with sadness at your lost. Lakisha was very special to me. I could not have asked for a more faithful choir member. At St. Mary's Academy she was a singing diva. She participated in the Senior Chorus and the Resurrection Singers. The song she led so beautifully was "It's good to know Jesus" and now she's safe in his bosom. God Bless all of you and you will always be remembered in my prayers.

I can't find the words when I found out that you were gone. It was not that long ago that I seen you last by Grandma Josie house just sitting back having a good time. You had just finally met my fiancee' for the first time and you and your mom needed help with the cell phone from fema. I remember that I told you about my wedding and that I wanted you to sing for me. I showed you my ring and you reply that's pretty. I am glad that you gotten that chance to meet him before you left, or should I say, I am glad that he had the chance of getting to know who you are as a person. A beautiful woman that was full of life. I can remember that you taught me that song, "The Blood". I admired you so much that I wanted to be just like you. You had a gift that you shared with the world. I am glad that you were my cousin and I am glad that we all grew up together. I remember a time when I used to tease Phedre because she would always copy everything that you do or I would be that smart Little brat that would rat on you and phedre if I did not have my way. In the long run, I've seen you grown into a beautiful woman. You were a lovely young lady and a beautiful mother to Kayla K. Certain times when I think about it, it is still hard for me to ever think that you are gone. I believe that you are an angel watching over us and singing your heart out with joy. We all will miss you dearly.

Ya Little Cousin With Love,

TO MY NIECE WHO WAS LIKE ONE OF MY CHILDREN. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART. I KNOW GOD HAS CALLED YOU HOME TO YOUR PLACE IN HEAVEN. I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF BOTH GOOD AND BAD TIMES, WHEN YOU AND PHEDRE' WOULD BE DISOBEDIENT SOMETIMES. I KNOW WHEN YOU BOTH BECAME YOUNG WOMEN, MARRIED AND HAD CHILDREN, YOU PROBABLY THOUGHT OF SOMETHINGS I TOLD THE TWO OF YOU. I CAN STILL REMEMBER WHEN YOU AND MY MOTHER WOULD BE SINGING AT HOME. SHE WOULD ALWAYS SAY, YOU WERE A GOOD GIRL. WE LOVED YOU BUT GOD LOVED YOU MORE. SLEEP ON MY SWEET NIECE; MY CHILD.

LOVE, AUNTIE JOSIE

To My Mother

Time is too slow for those who wait.....

Too swift for those who fear....

Too long for those who grieve....

Too short for those who rejoice but for those who love- time is eternity.
