Larry Bird Obituary

BIRD Larry W. Bird Sr., 71, of Sumrall, died September 21, 2013 at his home. Services will be Tuesday September 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Before moving to Hattiesburg Mr. Bird resided in Gretna, LA for 33 years. Mr. Bird was a graduate of Bluefield State College, he served in the U.S. Navy, was a general contractor and was employed as an electrical engineer with GE for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; Roscoe and Edith "Peggy" Bird. He is survived by his wife; Rosella P. Bird of Sumrall; one daughter, Terena Chauvin of Madisonville, LA; three sons; Larry William Bird II of Columbia, Ross D. Bird of New Orleans and Timothy R. Bird of Andersonville, TN; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Tuesday September 24, 2013 from 11:00 - 1:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
