Leola Elaine Douglas-Thomas, age 84, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas. Leola was preceded in death by her husband, Pleasant Burtell Thomas; parents, Daniel and Mary Douglas and 12 siblings. She leaves to cherish precious memories, her sons, Darvon (Yolanda Banks) and Kirk (Cheryl Slack) Thomas; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, two brothers, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, Pastor and members of all surrounding churches of St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes, are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of Sister Leola will be held at Christian Fellowship Family Worship Center, 5816 East Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 11 am, Bishop Henry Ballard, Officiating. Interment: St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10 am in the church. Please sign online guestbook at www.charbonnetfuneralhome.com. My condolences to the family of Ms. Leola Thomas. She was such a kind and affection person who always had a smile on her face. I remember her from being in the office at church. Always had something nice to say. To the Thomas and Douglas family my prayers and thought are with you at this difficult time.
