I remember her every time I read the local paper - a skill she taught me in 2008 in her 12th grade civics lessons.

Dear Chip,
I heard this week about Loree -- I am so sad. You may remember me. Loree was my friend and teacher (Ursuline Class of 1981). I am so grateful to have known her. She shared your family with me. She gave me wings. Without her, my life would have been different. What a great loss! I will keep her in my memories, my heart, and my prayers always.

Chip - While decades have passed, my memories of Loree, you and your parents from our years together at St. Agnes are quite clear and so very positive. I was so saddened to hear this news and hope you find comfort in your own special Loree memories.

Ms. LeBlanc will be truly missed. I attend Dominican High School and unfortunately never had her as a teacher, but she was always the nicest person. I am greatly saddened that I will not have the chance to have her as a teacher. Rest In Peace.

All who have known her and had her as a teacher feel fortunate to have done so. She was an amazing person and will be missed by so many. Ms Leblanc has left her mark on so many hearts that she will never be forgotten. I think one student said it best that you are in heaven keeping God in stiches with your whity sense of humor. My prayers are with the family and those students who were currently being taught by her. There is no one that could ever take her place.

Ms. LeBlanc will always and forever hold a special place in my heart. I was blessed to have her as my teacher for four different classes throughout my years at Dominican. However, my first memory of Ms. LeBlanc was actually on my Spend-A-Day at Dominican; I cut up with my guide the entire Civics class period and she was so patient and kind, she truly influenced me to attend Dominican. Two years later I fought to take classes that Ms. LeBlanc was teaching and I loved every class period I had with her. Ms. LeBlanc told me everyday of my last semester at Dominican to cherish it because I would miss it one day. I didn't believe her, but of course I did come to miss Dominican, but mainly I missed Ms. LeBlanc. Ms. LeBlanc was truly a legend and a mainstay at Dominican. I just wanted to share how much Ms. LeBlanc meant to me and let you know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I did not have Ms. LeBlanc as a teacher while at Dominican, I will never forget her smiling face. She always had a kind word, small smile, or little hug to give to you to help pick you up when it was needed. I will always remember her cheering us on as we played varsity sports. May God bless you and keep you in your time of loss.
A toast of praise to Ms. LeBlanc; Dominicans are we.

Chip, gosh all the memories of Loree and your parents are forever embedded in my heart and nothing can ever change that. I am sad that so much time passed since I saw Loree and yet when you looked around yesterday and saw the families that all lived near one another in our youth it was wonderful to see how much we all loved your family. The Harold LeBlanc family was so loving and kind that all of us cherished our time spending with all of you at your home. I have read the guest book and can see that Loree continued in what your parents had started and that was making each person feel special. Age didn't matter and both you and Loree were so very lucky to have such wonderful parents. I can also see that you too continue in that tradition with your precious family. I enjoyed visiting yesterday and seeing all those in attendance brought back so many wonderful memories of years gone by. Thank You for letting us all share this time together for Loree and I too concur that she is once again happily reunited with your mom and dad.

Ms. LeBlanc was my English teacher at DHS my junior year. I always looked forward to her class. I felt that she respected all of us as young women but at the same time she was very much a part of our formation. And how can I forget her sense of humor? Every class with her seemed to hold so many possiblities. Ms. LeBlanc was one of my most favorite teachers of all time. Her family can be proud of the impact that she has made on so many lives and the legacy that she leaves behind. God bless all of you and thank you for Loree LeBlanc.

Dear cousins. I am so very sorry for and saddened by our loss. I am so thankful I got to see and hug Loree last week at Honey's funeral. Her passing has left a hole in my heart- she was like my fifth big sister. I wish that I could take away your pain, but I know God will see you through.

I feel extremely fortunate to have had Ms. LeBlanc as a teacher. I looked forward to her class everyday since she made it fun and exciting. I remember waiting all year to hear her predictions for all of our futures. Having her at Rummel Transition made me feel at home; she was so comforting and reassuring during that time. She was such a vital part of my Dominican experience. I'm sad to think that she won't be there for the students yet to come. I will always remember her and will think of her every time I vote :)

I graduated from Ursuline in 1982 and Ms. Leblanc was my favorite teacher. Yes, she was at Ursuline before Dominican stole her away!! Anyway she took a group of us on the CloseUp trip to DC in 1981-it happened to be the week Ronald Reagan was inaugurated. I'll never forget how she got us to the front of the crowd to watch the presidential motorcade-"Girls-you're not from New Orleans for nothing-push to the front!" We also got some passes to be on the grounds for the inauguration-she didn't let any grass grow under our feet-we were always on the go on that trip. She loved it and so did we! Now, I am a Realtor and one day several years ago, my broker told me to go to this condo and take over the listing from an agent who was retiring. I went and who opens the door but Ms LeBlanc!! She said, "Janie Denenea?" and I said, "Ms. LeBlanc?" It was great seeing her again. I went on to sell that condo for her and find her another one. By the time we got to the closing table for her new condo, she leaned over to me and said, "We have been through two sales together and you are now an adult over 40, not my student, please for the love of God, call me Loree." I turned to her and said, "I can't, Ms. Leblanc, you're still my teacher to me!" I will surely miss her! We all felt like we were special to her!

Good bye, Loree. I will never forget when you came into the family. I was only eight years old or so, and we had fun with you from the beginning to the very end. We miss you very much. Chip, I know she is talking to Uncle Harold, Aunt Loree, Mr. and Mrs. Louviere, Grandma and Grandpa LeBlanc, Russell, Lorraine, Madeline, my daddy and everyone else. What a treat to get to see them again! Love, Paula(cousin)

December 30, 2009

Ms. LeBlanc was an amazing teacher in so many ways. She made even the most rebellious of us sit up and listen, and somehow made everything interesting to learn. My friends and I still joke about the last day of Senior year when she was "soothsayer," predicting what each of us would do with our lives.
We'll miss you Mc. LeBlanc, thanks for everything.

While it has been way too many years since I saw Loree, I remember her vivid laugh the most. We lost touch, but my childhood memories are more strong than the memories of yesterday. Family reunions, swimming in the pool at Uncle Harold's house, Ma'mere, Moonie, Aunt Alvine....this week has brought many wonderful memories of my younger life. Chip, my thoughts are with you right now & my sympathies. God be with you & help you through. Love.....

December 30, 2009

I had Miss LeBlanc my Junior year at Ursuline in the 80's. She was also my class advisor that year. She was kind and engaging. I had the pleasure of running into her many years later at the Thanksgiving Day parade in Chicago, my home now. We looked at each other in disbelief. It was great catching up with her and nice to know that Chicago was one of her favorite cities. I am moved by the comments of so many of her students. The educational community has truly lost an incredible teacher, but all those that knew her are blessed for it. My deepest sympathy to her loving family.

December 29, 2009

My most sincere condolences to the Ms. Leblanc's family. Though I did not have her during my time at Dominican, I would always see her in the hallway every morning. My sister (Class of '87) did have Ms. Leblanc for English and so that is how I got to know her. She will be sadly missed. I know she is smiling down on all of her Dominican family. My family will keep Ms. Leblanc and her family in our prayers.

Ms. LeBlanc had an immense impact on my academic life. She was the one who pushed me to go to school in Washington DC and study Politics, and I loved coming back to DHS to visit her and hear her opinion on where to go next. She was a teacher who truly had a gift for teaching and impacting lives. She will be missed by the entire DHS community, especially the Class of 2006 who formed a special bond with her while at Rummel T. Thank you for all you did for us.

I hope her family is comforted knowing the impact she had on our lives. I'm sure she is up in heaven questioning George Washington and Dwight Eisenhower.

My condolences to Ms. Leblanc's family and friends. She was one of my most favorite teachers at DHS! I can't count how many detentions I received from her for untucked shirts and missing name tags! She always had us laughing in senior Civics and inspired us to be better then we were. I'll never forget her!

My most sincere sympathies are extended to Loree's family and friends. Loree was one of my favorite teachers at DHS and I had the priviledge of working with her at Dominican from 91-94. She had a hysterical sense of humor and was an incredible motivator for her students. I am thankful our lives intersected not once, but twice.

Much love,

December 29, 2009

Ms. LeBlanc will truly be missed. My years at Dominican would not have been the same without her. As a member of the first golf team, she helped pioneer what is now a solid program at the school. Ms. Leblanc was my favorite teacher at Dominican. She taught me to think for myself and dream big. Her confidence in my abilities inspired me to overcome personal and intellectual hurdles throughout my life. And I know she inspired others in a similar way. The education community has truly lost one of its brightest stars. Ms. Leblanc, you will be sorely missed.

December 29, 2009

I am deeply saddened for your loss. I have such fond memories of Ms. LeBlanc not only as a teacher but as the wonderful person she was. Ms. LeBlanc's class was an amazing experience. We not only learned the subject at hand, but how to apply it in life. She had a unique way of approaching teenage girls (not an easy task)! She treated her students as adults, respected them and their thoughts and was treated respectfully in return. I think of her often and her great sense of humor. I still think of her "information for cocktail party conversation" reasoning and smile. May her memory be for a blessing.

Ms. Leblanc has been inspiring young women for many years. Her encouragement and enthusiasm as my teacher at Ursuline in the early 80's made me want to learn more about politics and history. Loree was such a caring, giving person. I consider my life richer for having known her as a friend and colleague at DHS. She was such an inspiration to her students and her legacy will be what all of those young ladies pass on to others from what she shared with them. The halls of Dominican will forever echo "A Toast of Praise" for Loree. May her family always find comfort in the knowledge that she had such a positive impact on so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

What a loss for Dominican High School and for the LeBlanc family. Loree was so gifted as a teacher, so witty and incisive. Her sphere of influence will expand for a very long time. I was proud to serve DHS with her. Her family and friends will be in my prayers.

Loree was both my friend and colleague for the years I taught at Dominican. She challenged her students to set the bar high, and strive to reach those goals. The Dominican family has suffered a great loss, but was blessed for all the years Loree was part of the Dominican family.

Chip and family, I pray that you will find comfort in the days ahead. Loree' was adored by her students and respected by her colleagues. She was truly someone who "made a difference." I have many fond memories of her over the past twenty years.

Family/Friends of Ms Leblanc...I am so sorry for your loss. Ms Leblanc was loved by her students for being a great inspirational teacher.

December 29, 2009

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Ms. LeBlanc. I regret that I will not be able to attend the Mass tomorrow but will be praying for your family.

I can say, without hesitation, that she was one of the best teachers I ever had. Her wit and humor, her efforts at getting us to always find the deeper meaning, her treatment of us as women and not as children....I never once in the two years I had her as a teacher dreaded going into her classroom. It was always a stellar education and there was decorum, but it was enjoyable.

I am so sorry for your loss.

First I would like to give my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Loree' family, her presence will be missed always. To those of you who didn't know this amazing woman, you have missed out on much. Loree' was not only an amazing teacher, but a dear friend. She was bright and funny and loved life to the fullest. Loree' and I met when she was teaching my daughter at Dominican High School. I had the great pleasure of getting to know Loree' well when she was the chaperone for my daughter's golf team at Dominican. Loree', thank you for the many laughs and tears we shared at Dominican, on the golf courses and at the bowling alley (you helped me keep my sanity), but most of all Thank You for loving my daughter and being the wonderful teacher to her that you were. Your family and mind have been truly Blessed to have you in our lives. With a heavy heart I say good bye my friend...I will miss you.

Sincerely and with much sadness,

Mr. LeBlanc and Family, please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your sister and loved one. It was a privilege to know her, not only as a colleague at Dominican High School, but also as my former English teacher. She will never be forgotten and her memory and words of wisdom will be preserved forever by the legacy of students whom she taught.
