Lorraine Florent Joseph

Lorraine Florent Joseph a resident of New Orleans, LA passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:20 P.M. at Jefferson Healthcare Center after her long fight with Alzheimer's. She graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High School class of 1969. She was a faithful member of St. Gabriel The Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She retired from the Orleans Parish School Board after 20+ years of service as an Administrative Assistant, as well as various other positions within Orleans Parish Schools. Lorraine, was preceded in death, by her parents Mildred Florent Scott and Ernest Washington siblings Amanda Worthy (Carl), Gerald Florent (Detra), Jerry Florent and Arthur Florent (Dorothy). She leaves behind to cherish one daughter Amanda Florent Jones, a nephew as a son Farrand Webster (Patricia), one brother Donald Florent (Mildred), Stepfather Irvin Scott, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews and close family friends. Relatives, friends, officers, and members of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Employees of Orleans Parish School Board and Booking.com are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at St. Gabriel The Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 5029 Louisa Drive, New Orleans, LA at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Rev. John G. Restrepo, O.P. officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
