Mr. Louis Howard Thomas, Sr. entered eternal rest on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was born on October 25, 1941 in Alexandria, LA, and was a resident of Avondale, LA. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife Juanita, 3 children, Louis, Jr. (Angela), Anthony, and Dr. Andrea Reynolds (Todd), 5 siblings, Leroy, Sr., (Harolyn) Lucille (Tyrone) Bonvillian, Joyce Sylvester, Patricia (Fleming) Granger, and Barbara (Wardell) Allen. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Louis III, Anthony Jr. (Nikisha), William, Joshua, Sydney, and Donovan, as well as three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, and A'ja, and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends. Preceded in death by parents Mildred Nelson Thomas and Edward Thomas, Sr., and 5 siblings Ruby Lee Mitchell, Eli Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Edward Thomas, Jr., and Mary Ann Robinson. He was an elder at Mount Hermon Baptist Church and a retired self-employed general contractor for over 30 years. Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 8:00AM – 10:00AM on Saturday, November 26, 2016 and attend his Celebration of Life starting at 10:00am at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 Hwy 90 W, Avondale, LA. Bishop Raft Jones, Presiding and Pastor Fred Luter, Jr., Pastor Officiating. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA.

Wow! I enjoyed going into the community with Pastor Thomas and his wife Juanita along with Emma and Sister Eva to save lost souls. Minister Thomas was a faithful man of God and will truly be missed. Praying for the family.

Sending heartfelt condolences to Sister Thomas and family. Minister Thomas was indeed, a man amongst men. He was a genuine spirit and was ALWAYS the same,whenever and wherever you were privileged to see him. He added sooo much life to the church service, just enjoying him as he was gifted with the Holy Spirit. Mrs. Juanita, it is said that " behind every good man, there's a woman".
