Louise Lonero Dowling

DOWLING Louise Lonero Dowling passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of the late John P. Dowling, a well known New Orleans attorney. Mother of Darleen D. Maumus and Erin D. Roussel. Mother-in-law of Bryan M. Roussel and the late Raymond N. Maumus, Ph.D. Grandmother of Étienne C.F.N. Maumus, Marc D.R. Maumus, Désirée L.O. Maumus, Sean M. Roussel, Tara E. Roussel and Trevor J. Roussel. Great-grandmother of Cannon J. Maumus and Alixandra R. Maumus. Daughter of the late Anita Roig Lonero and Joseph Lonero of Catalan-Spanish and Sicilian ancestry, respectively. Sister of Genevieve L. Dominick, the late Joseph Lonero, Jr., Ralph A. Lonero, Providence L. Glory, Anita L. Bryant and Lucy Lonero. Sister-in-law of Jewel Dowling Breaux. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, Louisiana until Hurricane Katrina. She recently returned to New Orleans after residing in Malvern, PA for the past 4 years. Louise was employed by the Louisiana Association for Mental Health for 15+ years as a secretary to Dr. Loyd W. Rowland. Louise loved gardening, singing in her church choir and cooking local creole cuisine. She enjoyed many years as a member of the Greater Pines Village Garden Club. She was a parishioner of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow in St. Patrick #1 Cemetery.
