Marilyn Lynette Carroll Baker was born on December 30, 1963 in New Orleans, LA to the late William and Evelyn Carroll, and peacefully departed her earthly home on March 14, 2023 surrounded by family. She received education from Bonnabel High School in Kenner, LA. At an early age Marilyn accepted Christ as her Savior at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In August of 1982, Marilyn was united in holy matrimony with Vincent Harper in Kenner, LA. To this union they were blessed with 3 children. On March 20, 2010, Marilyn was united in holy matrimony with Carl Gene Baker in Kenner, LA. Marilyn worked in the medical field. She was employed by Children's Hospital, Smith-Kline Beecham/Quest Diagnostics, and Fresenius Medical care. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Carl Gene Baker, son Kacey Harper, daughter Kellie Harper, brothers Lennie Valentine (Myra), Gregory W. Carroll (Eliza), sister in law Cheryl Carroll Smith, grandson Kameron Oatis, three nieces Gabrielle Carroll, Jasmine Valentine, and Taylor Carroll, three nephews Kardel Valentine, Aaron Foster, and Gregory Carroll II, aunts Deola Ellis, Brenda Cola, and Delores Cola, Uncle Lonnie Ellis, godchild Lesley Poche, and life-long friend and confidant Jeanne Stoulig. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents William and Evelyn Carroll, son Korey Harper, brother Glenn Carroll, aunts Priscilla Poche', Cindy Ellis, and Betty Jackson, uncles Leslie Ellis, Lennie Ellis, Thomas Cola, Ronnie Cola, Lyle Ellis, and Donald Cola. The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short St., Kenner, LA on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:30 am. Visitation 10:30 am. Father Christian Delerno, Jr. officiating. Internment: Belle Grove Cemetery, Kenner, LA. Arrangements entrusted to Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA.
