Marilyn Heumann Munson

1932 - 2018

Marilyn Heumann Munson, age 85, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church (1226 S. Carrollton Ave., New Orleans, Louisiana). Interment to follow with graveside services at 2:30 PM at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery 2 (Houma, Louisiana). Marilyn is survived by her six loving children and their spouses; Donald H. Munson Jr. (Kendy), Richard G. Munson (Mickey), Kathleen M. McClung (Michael), Karen M. Gaidry (Tuga), Mary M. Winburn (Clinton) and John F. Munson (Ashley), her nine cherished grandchildren; Sarah, Christine, Mary Kathryn, Laura, Jessica, Benton, Amanda, Ryan and Amy and her seven great-grandchildren; Drew, Olivia, Katherine, Paxton, Reed, Leigha and Elliott. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Donald H. Munson, Sr. Her parents, Aubrey C. Heumann Sr., and Olga G. Heumann and her brothers Aubrey C. Heumann Jr. and Donald O. Heumann Sr. Marilyn always enjoyed gardening, had a keen eye for design and was a fabulous cook. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to extend a warm and heartfelt thanks to the Forest Manor staff and St. Catherine's Hospice for their love and concern during her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her name. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Munson family.
