Marion Edwards Augusta Evans was born August 31, 1927, and passed into the loving arms of God on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the age of 90. She was the eighth child of Josephine Lassere and Foster L. Edwards Sr. Beloved wife by first marriage to the late Wilbert Augusta and second marriage to the late Bernard Evans Sr. Loving mother of Larry (Irine) Augusta of Los Angeles, CA, Karon (Zelma) Evans, Sr. of Marrero, LA and the late Olivia Augusta and Bernard Evans Jr. Sister of Freddie (Marygold) Edwards of Phoenix, AZ, Merlin (Marisa) Edwards of Oakland, CA, Vernice E. Woodward, Yvonne E. Johnson, both of New Orleans, LA, and Dolores E. Germaine of Oakland, CA and the late Evelyn Jamerson, Foster Edwards, Walter Edwards, Leonard Edwards and Edgard Edwards. Adopted sister of Josephine Elow. Also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one godchild Zelma Stewart Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends, also priest and parishioners of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, pastor, officers and members of Old Zion Baptist Church, employees of The United States Postal Service and staff and members of Mercy Endeavors Senior Center are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on her 91st birthday, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4230 South Broad Avenue, beginning 10 am. Rev. Daniel H. Green, pastor and celebrant. Church visitation 8 am until service time. Interment St. Vincent DePaul #2 Cemetery.
