Marion Gaines-Talton

1927 - 2016

Talton Marion Gaines-Talton was born December 20, 1927 to the late Earl Gaines and Sedonia Williams-Gaines. She departed this life on May 19, 2016 at the age of 88. Marion lived most of her life in Marrero; a graduate from McDonogh 35 in 1945. She volunteered for People Home Health and Hospice, West Jefferson Home Health and Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Volunteers of America, and was a part of the Jeremiah Group. She organized the Ames Park Civic Association and Neighborhood Watch where she reside. Marion is the mother of one son Samuel Washington, Jr. She is the grandmother of three: the late Samuel G. Washington, Kendra W. (Terry) Polk and Kara (Corey) Ferguson. She is the great grandmother of six Kierston Lang, Terrion Polk, Karielle Anderson, Courtney Anderson, Jaylan Polk, and Corey Ferguson, Jr. Pastor, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church are invited to attend the service and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on May 26, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. and Morning Star Baptist 1000 Walkertown way Marrero, LA 70072.
