Mary Ambrosia Obituary

Mary Ann Ambrosia, 67, a resident of Harahan, LA for 47 years, passed away April 4, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. Mary Ann was born June 28, 1955 in New Orleans, LA. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary Ann loved life! She was loved by everyone she met, and left a mark in each one of their lives. Mary Ann was pure, genuine, kind, loving and made everyone feel loved and welcome. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and especially loved her Disney World & beach trips with her family, and Cruising the Coast with her husband. She loved working on her crafts and felt joy in giving her creations to all she knew. If the music was playing she was dancing. Mary Ann fought fiercely and bravely in her battle with Breast Cancer since 1993. She loved her family at Touro Infirmary who fought with her, everyone from the admin team to the doctors, nurses and occupational therapist. She was also grateful to all the ladies in her support group at Touro, who helped her and understood what she was going through because they went through similar experiences. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, Morris L. Ambrosia, Jr.; her children Tina Ricks (Craig), Toby Ambrosia (Elaine), Patricia Callahan (Mickey), Mary Ambrosia; her grandchildren Amber Constantine, Kaylee Ricks & Cameron Ricks; step-grandchildren Craig Ricks Jr., Rosalyn Himmaugh & Anthony Bush. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Services on Monday, April 17, 2023 at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge, LA 70123. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a mass to follow at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Touro Cancer Program in Mary Ann Ambrosia's name, https://www.lcmchealth.org/touro/foundation/ways-to-give/. "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever."
- 1 Thessalonians 4:16&17
