Mary Renaud Obituary
RENAUD Opelousas - A Mass of the Resurrection for Sr. Mary Rose Renaud, MSC, age 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Facility Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in St. Landry Cemetery in Opelousas. Sr. Renaud was born in New Orleans, LA; and was currently residing in Opelousas. She died on Friday, March 6, 2009, in the Prompt Succor Nursing Facility of Opelousas, LA. Sr. Renaud entered the Congregation of the Marianites of Holy Cross in 1944. She was involved in education and served in various administrative positions. She taught at Incarnate Word, St. Rita and St. Andrew in New Orleans, LA. Sister worked at Opelousas General Hospital as Business Office Manager for 15 years and Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge for one year. She served as Provincial Secretary/Treasurer for six years at Our Lady of Holy Cross Provincial House in New Orleans, LA. She served as staff for the General Administration in LeMans, France for seven years. She received CPE training at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, LA and did Pastoral Care Ministry at St. Barnabas in Livingston, NJ for one year and (Hotel Dieu) University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA for 10 years. She has been in residence at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Facility in Opelousas where she continued her ministry of prayer. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Sr. Renaud was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Coleman Renaud; her father, Seymour V. Renaud; four brothers: Joseph, John, Seymour, and Re. Charles Renaud, CFA; and one sister, Catherine Becnel. Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, March 9, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Prompt Succor Nursing Facility Chapel in Opelousas. A Prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel. In Lieu of flowers, the Marianites of Holy Cross request that donations be made to the Marianites Retirement Fund at 1011 Gallier Street, New Orleans, LA, 70117.
