I was a friend of Matthew at
Redemptorist Grammar school in
the 1930's.I remember when his
parents bought him a new bike
and he rode me on the cross bar
from The St. Andrew Street wharf
along the river all the way to Audobon Park.Several years ago
when I was in the Irish Channel
I stopped by his house and inquired of his mother where was Matthew.
She told me that he lived in Chalmette. I remember his father,
a very distinguished looking gentleman. They lived in a cute cottage on the corner of St.Andrew
and Constance St.
Unfortunately Katrina changed
the lives of many friends including
Matthew
