My Sincerest Condolences to Melodie's daughter and family. I had no idea until I seen someone post today on FB that they miss her. My family met "Mel" through my sister, as my sister called her. Cherrie Holton and Mel were the Best of friends. Now they are together again. RIH My Angels

I met Melodie at John Q Adams Middle School in 7th grade. Her sweet nature and joyful giggles brightened my days. We reconnected after Katrina when she was in Lafayette and later in New Orleans. I recently went back to school to get my library science degree and was looking forward to `talking librarian´ with and getting advice. I know she was very happy in Alaska with her daughter. She will be missed dearly.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I worked with Melodie for a short time at St. John Parish Parish Library.

The phrase, "to know her is to love her" fits well here because Mel never met a stranger and made everyone feel loved. Her smile lit up the room. Her laugh was contagious. She was such a fun person to be around, so easy to be with. Alia, you were her everything. Sending you much love!

In loving memory of a wonderful person. It was a pleasure to have Melodie work with us @ Delgado College , Library - City Park Campus. She was a dedicated co-worker, always willing to help everyone. She always spoke highly of her father and daughter. Rest peacefully in heaven.
