Michael Caminita Obituary

Michael James Caminita, III, age 78 passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, from complications of Pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael James Caminita, Jr., and Thelma Marchand Caminita. Husband of Sandra Saladino Caminita; father of Rhonda Caminita, Russell Caminita, Ronald Caminita, Richard Caminita, Sr., Michael Caminita, IV., (Michelle), Paul Caminita and Anthony Caminita; grandfather of Lauren Smith, Brandon Smith, Amanda Caminita, Anthony M. Caminita, Dylan Caminita, Dalton Caminita, Richard Caminita, Jr., Nathan Caminita (Rachel), Katie Wissner (Benjamin), Keri Caminita; five great grandchildren; son-in-law of Shirley Saladino; brother of Thelma Celestin (Tommy), and the late Robert Caminita; brother-in-law of Sheryl Saladino and Vic Saladino (Ellie). Mike was employed by the Times Picayune as prepress supervisor for over 40 years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 150 people and a face cover must be worn. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. with private interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. To offer condolences or send flowers please visit www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
