Michael Evans Obituary

Michael Warren Evans passed away peacefully on December 28, 2015 after having valiantly battled severe heart failure since 2008. He was born March 29, 1961 in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Kenner, LA. He is survived by his son, Christopher "Chris" Evans, daughter, Jessica "Jessie" Evans, granddaughter, Alaina Evans, and his devoted mother, Doris Velez Evans. Also, survived by his brothers, John C. Evans (Angie), and Brian H. Evans; sisters, Gayle Anne Evans, Jeanne Tribou (Tony), and many beloved nieces and nephews. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Warren Leon Evans, sister, Nancy Evans Tardo Meserve, and niece, Adrianne Marie Tardo. No words can express how deeply he will be missed by his family. Michael was a loving father who cherished his two children more than anything in this world. He treasured activities with his children and loved his dogs. Before his illness, Michael had a flooring business for many years. Michael had a gift for being able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed renovating his home, working on autos, and taking care of his yard. His hobbies also included the Saints, and playing on a pool and dart team. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 9 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1908 Short St, Kenner, LA at 12:00 Noon. All are welcome for a gathering with family and friends at the Larose Center next door to the church following the Funeral Mass. The interment for Michael Evans and his sister, Nancy Evans Tardo Meserve will be at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans the following week.

Mike fought for his life and hung-on for his children as long as he could.... He gave it his all until the end, a fight that was undoubtably full of fear and hope...I know that he will be in god's heaven awaiting the arrival of the rest of his family for a celebration and a home coming. God bless this good friend and hold him close as he is deserving of all that god's good graces offer in the afterlife. Rip Mike and gods speed to heaven. I'll see you on the other side.

We're praying for the family, friends, and loved ones that their hearts heal from This unfortunate loss. He was such a great, big hearted, and all around amazing guy. I remember going over to the house Christmas Day when him and Chris were working on the bike, Clay jumped in automatically to help! Well from there on out Pops had to teach the youngins on how to work on the bike the RIGHT way, it was such an amazing thing to see him doing something he enjoyed most even with his medical condition, and it didn't slow him down at all! We all looked up to Mr. Mike as a father, he considered all of us his children and family! He was there for me whenever no one else was! He loved his children, dogs, grandchild, and all the people his kids called family more than anything in the world no matter what happened in life he never gave up or complained about it he just kept going on and moving forward.

I'm sure he's in heaven building a big mansion just waiting for all of us, the Lord has truly taken one worlds most amazing guys and now we're blessed with an angel.

Gone too soon, but never forgotten.. This is not good bye, but until next time Poppi!

Clay, Kailan, and I pray for the family, friends, and all loved ones who are going through this unfortunate loss. Mr. Mike was such a great man~ a handy man, Jack of all trades for that matter! He loved his children, grandchildren, and anybody his kids called family, like us. He was there for me when nobody else was! Such a big heart, and would always be open to helping anyone in need! I remember seeing him Christmas Day, him and Chris were working on the bike when we got there Clay authomatically jumped in, and from then on out Pops started schooling the youngins on how to do it the right way! He was so persistent on going to buy a whole brand new O- ring even though there was a whole pack sitting next to him- he wanted it to be EXACT! It's so amazing to watch him do something he loved doing considering what medical conditions he has been through. Poppi, you'll never be forgotten always in our hearts forever. Not goodbye, but see you later. Love you! We know you'll be building a mansion in heaven big enough for all of us, but leave the decorating for Jess and I!

Love always and forever,
Tiffany, Clay, and Kailan.
