Michael Edward Monroe 'Money' on Tuesday April 20, 2021 departed this life at the age of 54. Michael was born on February 10, 1967 in New Orleans, LA to Delores Monroe and Edward Alford. He received his high school diploma in 1987 from Alcee Fortier Senior High School. Michael was an employee at the Holiday Inn Metairie and worked at New Orleans International Airport as a transportation driver. On March 23, 2019 he married Denise Monroe. He raised his daughter Keshawn Railey, niece Ashley Monroe, and Goddaughter Brionna Hotkins. Michael had a passion for music, fishing, dancing, and partying with family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Denise Johnson Monroe, one daughter Keshawn Railey, one sister Leeatta Monroe, two brothers Ronald and Billy Monroe, a special niece Ashley Monroe, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Delores Monroe and his father Edward Alford, five brothers Frank, Robert, Charles, David, and Lionel Monroe, two sisters Joann and Barbaran Monroe. Services will be held on Friday May 7, 2021 at Dennis Funeral Home with visitation at 9:00 am followed by services at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
