Michael Jay Pollock

Michael Jay Pollock of Destin, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 78 years of age. He was born April 15, 1946 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to James and Merle Pollock. Mike primarily resided in Louisiana before retiring in Florida. Mike earned his BS degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1967. He was an astute businessman and had a successful career. His career began at Gulf Oil Company as an internal auditor, continuing as a CPA followed by a CFO position with Affiliated Foods. As his career advanced, Mike served as Vice President, CFO, and Treasurer of Global Industries LTD. Upon retirement, Mike served many years on the Board of Directors with Global and worked as CFO for Datacom. Mike then co-founded CoStreet Communications, a telecommunications company until his final retirement in 2008. Supporting charitable organizations and being a member of Resurrection Catholic Church was important to Mike. He was a mentor and respected by his peers and colleagues. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Diane Cookie Pollock; daughters, Amy Reedy (Cade Reedy) and Lindsey Moss (Daniel Moss); grandchildren, Nicholas Fogg, Tate Pollock, Elise Fogg, Elijah Pollock, Carlie Pollock, Cara Reedy, Cailyn Reedy, and Robbie Moss; great grandson, Avelli Fogg; and sister, Barbara Martin. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Pollock and his parents. Mike will be dearly missed by all who loved him especially his grandchildren who called him "Luke." A Memorial Mass will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 259 Miramar Beach, Drive, Miramar Beach, FL 32550 on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Emerald Coast Autism Center or Resurrection Cares, in Mike's memory.
