Mildred Boutte Lewis

Mildred Boutte Lewis departed from this life on April 7, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of August and Mary Boutte. Mildred was born on January 11, 1940, in New Orleans, La. Mildred was educated through the New Orleans public school system. She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She married Norris Lewis, Sr. and from that union, she had 3 Sons, Norris Lewis, Jr., Michael Van Lewis and John A. Lewis, Sr. Mildred worked and retired from Ochsner Medical Center where she held various positions from being a Certified Nursing Assistant to being a unit secretary. Mildred was known for her love of family and feeding people. She had a huge sense of humor also. She would host Sunday dinners for family and friends and have a 24-hour New Years Eve get together where the food was cooked around the clock nonstop. Mildred was known by many names like Tee Tee, Tee Tee Mildred and Mama Lewis. Mildred was preceded in death by her late husband, Norris Lewis, Sr., a son, Michael Van Lewis, a sister, Edna M. Boutte, 2 Brothers Raymond Boutte and August Demagnus and a Grand Son, Mark A. Berry. Mildred leaves to mourn 2 Sons, Norris Lewis, Jr. and John A. Lewis, Sr., 5 Grand Children, Norris III, Vantrell, Nadia, Calenthia and John, Jr., 7 Great Grand Children, a sister, Augustine Woodard and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church located at 2015 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Father Esere officiating, and interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Metairie, LA.
