Mildred Rieger Obituary

Mildred C. Rieger, 94, of Monroe, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday at Fountain View of Monroe.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday. The Rev. Ross Ulrich, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Mildred was born April 5, 1922 in LaSalle. She was the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Brown) Kurtz. She married William G. Rieger December 24, 1943; he preceded her in death May 19, 1979.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and VFW Post 1138 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to bowl and had bowled on leagues at Monroe Sports Center.
Mildred loved to travel and had visited several different countries.
She is survived by her four daughters, Jerrilyn (Curtis) Jewell of Vulcan, Deborah (Anthony) Lake-McLaughlin of Monroe, Kathleen (David) Premoe of Monroe and Nancy (James) Hiner of Britton; a brother James Kurtz of Mason, Ohio; nine grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, William Lake; a grandson, Ben Monday, five brothers and six sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

Spent a lot of evenings when I was young with your Mom. Uncle Bill worked afternoons and she didn't like being along at night. She taught me how to bake. Sorry I didn't get to see her very often after we moved away from Monroe. She always held a special place in my heart. So sorry for your loss.
