DEGRUISE Modres Quatrevingt Degruise on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 2:40 a.m. in Jefferson, LA. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Degruise, Jr. Mother of Blaine Degruise, Brian Degruise and Charmain Caccioppi. Daughter of the late Johnny and Lydie Martin Quatrevingt. Sister of Evence Quatrevignt, the late Jules, Curtis and E.J. Quatrevignt. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A native and resident of Raceland, LA. Age 75 years. She was past President of the American Legion Post 349 Ladies Auxiliary. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 333 Twin Oaks Dr., Raceland, LA on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Mathern Cemetery, Bayou Blue, LA. Visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home, 3838 Highway 1, Raceland, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Akula Foundation, c/o Canon Hospice Facility, P.O. Box 850715, New Orleans, LA 70185. FALGOUT FUNERAL HOMES in charge of arrangements.

Charmaine, Candice, Staci and Rod,
Please know you are all in my prayers today especially as you lay your beautiful mother and grandmother to rest. She loved you all and life so much and was one of the most vital, kind-hearted and engaged people I have known. I know she will always stay in your hearts and that the many memories you have will help fill a small part of the void her passing leaves. She is at rest now and reunited with her beloved Eugene. Dear Charmaine, Mr. Rod, Candice, Staci, Mr. Blaine, Mrs. Sandra, Amanda, Jon, Mr. Evence, Mrs. Patsy,

Words cannot express how much Mrs. Modres meant for me... Her kind heart, always smiling eyes, soft hands and happy laugh are forever in my memory. She is a very wise lady and I know she would be most happy if you stay strong and united in this time.

I am confident that she is resting at peace with her husband, whom I have never met, but can imagine what a great person he was.

I regret not being able to be there to share this sorrow with you. Despite the distance, I am thinking and praying for you.

I want you to know that I will always cherish the memories of Momma Modres. I will cherish her incredible strength in her faith, her love and devotion for her family, her love for her community ~ And her love for the color RED!!!
