I spoke to Paul shortly after I returned to law school and he was very supportive of my efforts and said that if I ever planned to return to the New Orleans area to call him to see if he could be of assistance to me.

I met Mr. Connick when he was the Director of Civil Defense, approx. 25 years ago while I worked w/Mr. Joseph Yenni, Parish President. He sent a co-worker and I to Civil Defense during Hurricane Juan and still today I wonder why; I'm sure he thought we would be an asset (smile). The Connick's are a warm welcoming family and I am honored to have know Mr. Connick. Our condolences to the Connick family and we ask God to give you strength and comfort.

Paul Connick Sr.,as I remember,New Orleans born, started coming to the Westbank unincorporated area (Marrero,Harvey,Amesville) in the late 40's. Now in those days people from New Orleans did'nt come to the Westbank, especially the unincorporated areas---- all farms and swamp. What brought him was a pretty green eyed dutch girl named Elizabeth Jenniskens. Eventually they were married, settled in Marrero and had a large family.Paul, through the years has been a big plus for the Westbank. Now Paul and Betty's children are caring the torch .I offer my sympathy to the family. I love you Betty and the Connick family!!! Paul, I am sure does not need our sympathy,He is where we all want to be someday----- Heaven!!!Pappy Estopinal

To the Connick family, I met your father and beautiful mother at St. Margaret's 10:30 a.m. Sunday mass. He introduced himself and your mother to me. What a nice man! I looked forward to seeing him, your mother, and some Sundays, some of you, at mass. I'll miss seeing his smile, and the love and devotion he showed towards your mother. I didn't know your dad for long, but during the short period of time that I did, I knew he was special.
