My condolences go out to Paul's wife, children and the whole Dix family. I met Paul in 1984, while I was attending UNO and dating his cousin. As I recall, Paul was christian hearted and quite intelligent. Although I am saddened about his death, I feel he is living among the angels.

Dear Elmo, Gilda, Pam, Michael, Jill and Alicia,
I've just heard of Paul's passing. There are no words to define the feeling of loss you must have. Know that the young man you raised was a special gift as a son, brother, husband and father. They say you can tell the greatness of a man by those he touched. From what I have gathered and heard of Paul, you must only feel blessed and proud to have had him in your life. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Carolyn Hewlett

I met Paul 16 years ago to buy t shirts from his shop on Dowman Rd. Little did I know that I had met a life time fishing buddy and friend. When I say friend I mean it in every aspect of the word. I will miss him like a family member . You do not meet many people like Paul in this life. I am greatful to have had the opportunity to have him as a friend.
Catch all you can Paul I'll see you when I get there.

My deepest sympathy to the Dix family. God was gracious to allow me to see Paul before he passed. I had not seen Paul in many years. I saw Paul in Winn Dixie on Saturday and we talked about the old fun times during cell groups at Angela and his house. We laughed and talked and even planned a picnic for a reunion at Angela house. We said good by and see you soon. I never thought the next time I would see Paul would be in heaven. I called Angela and she informed me that she found out about 1 hour ago that Paul had died.

I am saddened greatly yet my sorrow for Paul's family surpasses any grief I have for losing a friend. Paul was an ordinary man with an extraordinary heart. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back and a homeless man his next meal. He loved the Lord. Paul's zest for life was that of a man who knew his savior and heavenly home. Congo Square will never be the same. He will be missed. God bless you and keep you at this time and always.

Dix Family,
Comfort for your sorrow,
courage for each day,
Strength to face this journey,
His Word to light your way,
His peace to fill your heart,
...although you may not understand,
And his love to hold you gently
in the hollow of His hand. May the peace
God's promise offers
help to ease your grief today.
And may He always
be beside you
as you go along
life's way.

Uncle Elmo, Aunt Gilda, Michael, Pamela, Jill, Alicia and family, I am so saddened at the news of Paul's passing and I am still having a hard time accepting that this very beautiful man, son, husband, father, brother and cousin will no longer be a part of this world. I will always treasure and remember with fondness the years we had together as children and young adults in New Orleans. He was one of my favorite cousins, more like a brother than a cousin to me when we were growing up and I know that the world will miss his warm smile, generous spirit and kind heart. My love and thoughts are with you all. 609-924-4483.
