Perlita Pelaez Goodpasture, 57, of Liberty, passed away Feb 8, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born and raised in Jolo Sulu, Philippines where she attended the University. Her professional career was spent in Kuwait where she worked to provide for her parents and family. She came to the U.S. via a K-1 visa and was married in June 2016 to her fiancé, Thomas W. Goodpasture. In the U.S., Perlita is survived by her husband, Tom & his three adult children and families, Nina & James McDaniel of NKC, Nathan & Sandy Goodpasture & three children of Liberty, and Neal Goodpasture of Omaha. In the Philippines, Perlita’s parents Filepe & Milagros Pelaez preceded her in death. She is survived by 6 brothers and sisters and their families: Pilar P. Alfad, Clotilde P. Acero, Armando U. Pelaez, Nestor U. Pelaez, Wilma U. Pelaez & Rizalina U. Pelaez. The large surviving family also includes 16 nieces & nephews, 21 great nieces & nephews. She will fondly be remembered as she was in life as their Auntie Peng.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 18th at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home in Liberty, MO from 9:00-10:00am with service at 10am. The inurnment will be private at Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to: KU Cancer Center, 2330 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, Suite 305, Westwood, KS, 66205.
